Hi Garry,
This is typical Daily Mail old news. I had heard about the preparations for this 10 years ago.

The Daily Telegraph carried the same story, Paul. I think its come to prominence right now because Rowland White is releasing a new version of Vulcan 607 ( the words 'it' and 'milking' spring to mind ).

Sadly.. I'd tend to agree
There was a prog on a couple of weeks ago 'revealing' (not!) a lot of stuff to show how narrow to the brown stuff our little jaunt was down there 30 years ago. I saw little if anything new.

Did anyone ever think about putting the radar and systems of the Sea Harrier FA2 into the MDD/BAe AV-8B airframes? It seemed odd to me that the second generation Sea Harriers still used essentially the original airframe (with its range/payload limitations). I think the Mk.2 project must have been initiated within about 2 years of the war ending and the GR.5 first appeared in development in 1985 (?), so not a long time after?
