Boolean - OK it's not an Aircraft, but...
Hi All,
I've uploaded a WORK IN PROGRESS version of "Galloway Princess" car ferry in 1980 paint scheme, in response to Ben Watson's request for ships of this type.
Apart from the normal animation of two exits, I've added a sound file to acknowledge the animated seagulls. Unfortunately, that sound can only be heard in the VC position. Some of the gulls are erratic, but at present I'm fed up with trying to identify the culprits. (they all look the same!)They also have to be simplified, as they're a mass of polygons.
There's a screen shot and downloadable zip on my "Airspeed's Flying Visit" site, which you can go to by clicking the contact icon to the right of this post, next to "PM".
Bearing in mind that it's not finished, I'd still like any constructive comments on improvements that I could incorporate.
Anybody else had trouble using boolean op to cut holes? When I use it, my simple structure suddenly acquires a squillion extra polygons that don't seem to have a purpose. In some cases, I've rebuilt using a series of boxes and leaving a hole where needed. I will try deleting points in the booled part and see what happens.

Cheers Mike
As for Boolean...I tried it but I don't think it works well in FSDS
I've tried it several times but end up with a relief map of the Himalayas.
I've given that up as despite the fact it takes ages to cut out and make do in the old fashioned way, it is cleaner and possibly overall quicker then the Boolean method or rather sorting out the mess it creates and of course deleting the extra points mean poly remake anyway so I prefer to keep it under my control.

Hi Mike,
Sorry I haven't been about much the last week or so, busy with real world stuff. I'll give her a go tomorrow when I'm "working from home"

Well, I colour coded the livestock and fixed the erratic flying. A new upload is now on AFV.

Lovely Mike!
She does look rather nice sailing down Loch Ryan
Only comment might be that I think the hull is should be more "blue" if you know what i mean.
Really enjoying this....

Thanks for the comments guys,
I've never seen a real one, and the few photos I've downloaded left me in doubt about black/dark blue. I took SWMBO's advice and did black.
I'll get the spraycan out and fix it, Ben.

Hi Mike
I used to see Sealink a lot
Try
R44 G82 B103 for blue
R203 G77 B55 for red
That is in Photoshop but I've not seen how much FS alters those colours as it always does, but for AI hopefully it will be close enough
