Now this is VERY different to any Windows version I've ever seen and will definately take some getting used to. :worried:

Ben's comment fills me with no confidence whatsoever  Worry not.. I still plan to move to Win7 as soon as I get the time to build the machine ;)

It's like Flight, They ripped it's heart out and shoved it down it's throat
Then they pulled all it's guts out and filled it with shite.

:)
and I say that very calmly.

No Krakatoa eruption over it here mates.

First impressions, on an old laptop with 2GB RAM and a dual core 1.6GHz CPU.

Its different. By default uses your windows live ID to logon to the PC with, but you can select the option to use a local account instead.

I've a Windows Phone and really like the Metro interface (the little tiles that have replaced the start menu) however its a learning curve. I've no idea how to close a program, and I'm beginning to think that you dont close them, the OS simply seems to suspend them when they arent active. As a result, there is no cross in the top righthand corner to close them with. The desktop in its traditional sense is still there, albeit without a start button. Ive installed Putty, GIMP and PSPad all without issue and the seem to work as expected. The built in stuff like Maps, Weather, Mail, Messenger etc are all very nice and work well. This is going to be a hell of a learning curve. :cpu:
