Hawker Siddely HS.748 with ISG1

Post by pontiac51 »

I made this a time ago, but i still recieve emails on it. So i thought i'll put it up here, since there are so many fans of the HS.748 around. ;)

If this is the wrong place, sry to bother.

What is it? Basically its 2 panel.cfgs for the HS.748 that puts the ISG1 on the dash, making the HS748 fully IFR capable. So you get EHSI, EADI, FMS, AP and FD. :agree:

The first one uses the default Beech autopilot from FS2004 (but i guess its still there in FSX or at least a suitable replacement). This has only one drawback, cause the Beech default autopilot lacks an "FD" switch. So its on as soon as one of the modes is selected (HDG, NAV, ALT, etc.).

This file also includes a performance data configuration for ISG1 and greatly improves autopilot behaviour.

The second one uses another autopilot from a freeware plane, the Beech 58 SardFly Flying School. This is IMHO the better choice because of the "FD" switch, Ap mode display and a more fitting style of instruments. However, the KFC200 doesnt have a altitude selector, so i added the default Beech one. Install a bit more, get a bit more.

Both panels also include the 2D panels, it's just i dont use them anymore.

Blue Skies!

Hi Pontiac51 and welcome :hello:

Tks very much for this. While I'm a more conventional (read standard) 748 user, there are as you say plenty of 748 pilots here who will, I'm sure, welcome the modifications. If it maintains interest in the model, that's all good as far as I'm concerned

It's not evident from those screenshots, but simply removing the autopilot flight panel is not sufficient; you need to take out the autopilot engage & trim indicator as well which contains much of the original autopilot process and is likely to conflict with any other installation ;)

cheers

Please tell me which line refers to that instrument and i will consider it.

However, on numerous flights with the HS748 neither i nor others had problems with any of these configurations. Otherwise i wouldnt put them up.

Keep in mind that with the default/addon and ISG gauges, the AP should now only use default functions again. And the ISG1 does all of its navigation through the HDG setting, even the LNAV mode.
