I love Windows 7.

Permissions? open control panel and type UAC into the search top right. Go to the UAC section and turn it off "never notify" option, problem solved
Themes? Right click on the deskop, select personalize. (I even forgive the miss-spelling)

It's so much better than XP and miles ahead of Vista.

I loaded FS.x but I can't' find where to run it as there is no entry in Programmes as it is an a separate folder, no shortcut on the desktop and going to the folder where it is all I see is the log so I can't access the .EXE

I find IE has fewer visible options in the menu bar

This is academic though...I just don't like it and don't want it

BTW this is W7 64 bit

For the FSX start icon look in the Games folder. Start menu/Games on the right hand column.

You can create shortcuts elsewhere though as always.

Thanks everyone I think I'll be OK

When I mention to the chap who put this together last night he said that if there was any compatibility probs he would create a virtual PC with XP so it would run properly

I don't really understand it but it seems to be similat with what was mentioned above as he talked about creating it in a partition so it would run separately behind W7 or something like that

Whatever...it does seem any issues can be sorted if and as they occur.

Hi Garry,

Win7 can do lots of clever stuff with VM's (Virtual Machines) but thankfully, you won't need them. I've yet to find a program that wont run natively in Win7, however you may find the odd one that needs compatibility mode. Basicaly, find the exe file, right click on it, Click on the "compatibility" tab at the top, Tick the box check box to say run this program in compatibility mode for "Windows XP SP3" and click apply! hey presto

TBH I've not personally heard of any issues so nit's very much a stanby if needed thing.

My main compatabilty concern was not so much W7 but 64bit
