I'd already seen the clip, and in a selfish sort of way hoped the sounds would be a pleasant surprise, I'd be delighted if near perfection was ever achieved, and happy to pay for it,..my goodness it's not easy :wall: . They managed it extremely well on 1950's technology with the Redifon simulators. But as you'll guess...no pleasant surprise. Excruciating would be a better description, although to be fair, FS is hopeless with sounds when you chop and change views etc.

cheers

Indeed :agree:

And of course there were no BOAC Comet 4C aircraft

The rear cockpit window is too long but that doesn't get noticed. :dunno:

Anyway

As for general errors...the Viscount is worse. :hide:

I'm left with the impression that the reviewer wasn't particularly impressed with the VC. Ouch!

I'd rather have the Rick Piper version freely available, I dont like the markings on the Aer LIngus version, to me it looks like the wrong font was used, the cambrian versions is too contrasty, but thats IMHO. I used to watch these at Liverpool, in fact thats all there was to watch at Liverpool!
Ricks version looks good as they are in FSX without all the extras, alright the stew at the top of the stairs looks effective, but I used to talk to them as they came off the aircraft and they didnt look as stiff as the Just flight ones.... I dont mean to take the mickey out of it all, some of you would have seen the other airlines but for me, I'm not a purist like some, but obvious strays from the original colours and markings dont sell this one to me. Sorry! :(

I feel I have to say something in defence of Just Flight and their software, the models are ideal for the beginner to Flight Sim, they are easy to install, easy to fly and they get you hooked onto flight sim, about 4years ago I started out on Flight sim with their products also models like the Addictive Trident and VC10, great for novices, if I had come onto this forum 4 Years ago I would not have known what you people were on about. Then in the course of time I discovered the DM site and Rick Piper's models and went through the disappointment of the demise of Skysim.
In short I learnt more as I went along but we all have to start somewhere, Just Flight is excellent for beginners and there product support is excellent.
By the way I have as I said before learnt a lot over the last four years thanks to this Forum and others like it, but I have to admit that sometimes, on some of the posts, I still do not have a clue what you chaps are on about, however its good to rub shoulders with the experts.

While I agree that Just Flight is great for beginners, our problem is that they (and some others, like the Viscount group in this case) basically commit false advertising, claiming that their product is "accurate" when it isn't the case, that they have "quality" sounds when they're worse than what we had in FS98, and there are glaring errors in the VC. If they were honest with themselves and with their customers, then we wouldn't have as much of a problem with it, especially if they started charging like Alphasim did - economy prices. Just Flight in many cases are asking you to pay what you'd pay for a quality addon for what amounts to an economy model. That's just plain wrong and they're defrauding those new customers by doing it.
