Happy Birthday Bridon Bear(62) today, 9.12.11

Post by DaveB »

TBH.. I can't believe this. Something has happened somewhere and I seem to have missed months.. perhaps years. I know months have disappeared this year due to my folks being ill but even so..

You have a good one Brian. Take that lovely wife of your's out (making sure she has her purse) and enjoy the day

 :guinn:

Thanks for the salutations chaps.... :)

Had a great day with some good pressys too!

A Corgi 1/72 scale DC-3 in BEA 'Pionair' livery G-AHZC....superb model now on its stand in 'flying mode' sitting by the PC monitor as I type.

Also I received a boxed DVD set of the Definitive short films collection of the Royal Air Force in the 1960's. This 4 disc set has a plethora of films many in colour and runs for over 13 hours!!!.....lovely jubbly.

Regards

Bridon Bear ;)

Nice one Brian

One of the volunteers on the Vanguard probably flew that. He joined BEA at the end of the war and flew Pionairs as his first type. In fact I think he flew every BEA aircraft up to and including the T2 (he's not a young man you understand)

Indeed he did.....wow, what an experience and what tales he must have. This BEA livery is one of my favourites as well as the BOAC and in the box was a small brochure advertising the Corgi 1/144 scale BOAC liveried VC10....sadly not available anymore, apparently it was released in 2009 and somehow I missed that one...drat :wall:

The DVD I mentioned will keep me quiet for some considerable time. Just watched an episode about the EE Lightning in colour extolling the performance of this aircraft with statements such as 'Climb two Everests in less than 3 minutes'... 8)

A happy day indeed :)
