Thanks for that Garry. The one consolation is I cannot be accused of skiving when it plays up. I have the photos to prove it.

Hi Simon, a steel brace?? does not sound to me a very nice operation to have, but when you finally pluck up the courage hope all goes well and that it alleviates your problem.

The spinal surgeon told me that hopefully this operation will cure the pain however I will still have back pain which is through having arthritis in the lower spine which they found when I had a scan but at least the worst will be cured. :thumbsup:

One of the discs has worn away and the gap between two of my vertebrae is lopsided. They want to put a piece of ironmongery in to keep both sides even.
