I do not want nor need to carry a conventional firearm, neither does the majority on front line response policing. There is a place for firearms in the police, not just in reactive 'ARV' policing but in other more specalised areas, some of which I'm sure most people don't even know exist, but they are exactly that. A specialism (and a bunch of too much hair-gel wearing prima donna's
