Dave,

I discovered that today and finally got airborne the right way!!...Done a bit of tuning as well...Being overweight by over 5000 lbs did not suit so I changed the max :)

Yes, I noticed that half an hour or so ago. Pointless taking off with full fuel (as you do) so I thought I'd change it and ended up almost emptying the darned thing of pax/cargo to get it to takeoff weight! A bit of a shock as I'd have imagined this thing would go for miles at MZFW but no.. far from it! Ah well.. built as it is for somewhat colder climes, it should be suitable for MCL Field in the dead of winter ;)

I just changed the Max Gross to 13000 lbs and left the passenger and cargo load as it was...I feel sure that the quoted Max Gross is wrong anyway :)

Yes.. Plan A in all it's finery  Looking around the interweb.. weights vary a little but this could be due to different Mk's being quoted. Wiki states an empty weight of 7300lb/3300kg, loaded weight of 12000lb/5448kg and a useful load weight of 4700lb/2140kg. Another source quotes an empty weight of 7590lb/3450kg, a MTOW of 12100lb/5500kg and a useful load weight of 4510lb/2050kg.. this against the models EW of 7500lb/3405kg and loaded weight of 12125lb/5504kg so I guess it's there or thereabouts depending on version used. :)

Well the Aircraft.cfg on mine gives these figures:-

Empty 4145 lbs
Payload 5360 lbs
Gross 12775 lbs
Max Gross 7100 lbs

That last figure is obviously in error and that is the figure that gives the massive Overweight in the sim (the sim figs are taken from the Aircraft.cfg).

Changing the Max Gross to the 12125 lbs number that you quoted would only require the removal of about three pax to avoid the "Red Figures".

I'll just leave mine at a round 13000 lbs and that will allow me to operate a bit overweight, as is probably realistic, without bringing up overload warnings!

BTW...I'm operating it out of "Turf Green"...My new grass "Rich Mans" residential airfield near McLeland Field

Oh dear.. I do hope they appreciate what you're giving them

Yes, you're right about the cfg entries. I quoted (for the model) what they have in the descriptive which is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard  Changing the MTOW to 13000lb is probably how the real one is operated anyway.. overweight isn't a problem as long as the load fits! The model actually flies better 'as loaded' so I'll probably adjust my cfgs to read the same ;)
