Updated F-27A

Post by Herkpilot »

A heads up, with Mike Stone's permission, Tom Gibson is updating Mike's F-27-200 into a F-27A. It's still a work in progress but there is a nice preview at CalClassic.com. It features an Air stair door, retractable landing lights, improved gear retraction and reshaped nacelles. Hopefully he'll release it soon, we've needed this for a long time.

Tom's released his updated Mike Stone F-27A (and now an F-27 but no F-227-yet) over on Cal Classics. There is also a similar improvement of the Fokkers by Jaap DeBaares in the works. Here's the link to the Fairchilds:

The download link is on his planes page. The date hasn't been updated yet, but it will give you the latest package. Two minor problems though if you are using Fraser's excellent V6 panel, the retractable landing lights don't work and the detailed cargo hatch doesn't open. Apparently a conflict in key commands somewhere. All the old liveries for Mike Stone's model still work, you just have to update the model and add 5 new textures.

I'm sure Fraser will update his panels in due course. :)

Brilliant! The Friendship is my absolute favourite a/c of all time. Spent many happy hours playing on them at Norwich while my Dad would put in a few hours overtime on a Sunday back in the 80s.
