Maybe I should take paint classes myself? Is it difficult?
You have to start somewhere Anders :) If a BOAC paint exists for the RFP model, it can be relatively straight forward to make other fleet registrations.. assuming 1 isn't enough  Having just looked through the 54 liveries that come with the model, it is disappointing to see that there isn't 1 for BOAC so unless someone, somewhere has done one.. you'd have to start from scratch. I didn't see mention of a paintkit either which is less than helpful 8) Glad I didn't buy that one! :worried:

Thanks Anders for posting this Q, It inspired me to fire up the RFP 747 which was one of the first payware a/c I ever bought. Also it surely was one of the first if not the first model to include realistic start up procedures. For those who may not know it is available these days as freeware at the major sites, just search for rfp_v2.zip. There are oodles of associated "authorised" files to go with it. A search of Ready for Pushback at flightsim.com should reveal them all. It is well worth d/ling, a challenging a/c with 2D and VC, though I have no idea of its worth as far as FSX goes.
Sorry for going OT from the OP I am no use as regards BOAC as I fly the AC one mainly. :dunno:

Hey found a paint kit here http://users.tpg.com.au/captaing//Vmax_Paint_Kit.zip
I don't know how good it may or may not be as I have nopainting talent.
Got it from the dedicated Avsim forum for RFP at
http://forum.avsim.net/forum/282-the-re ... ial-forum/
Hope this is helpful, there should be a BOAC.

Thank you for the inputs.
I will take a closer look at the paint kit, and see what I can get out of it.. Hence, as an absolute novice in the field, I cannot garrantee a 747 Speedbird tomorrow....
Yes, I am pretty amazed with the system depth offered by this freeware aircraft. The extenal models are nice. Maybe not fully up to the quality found in other excellent freeware found here and over at hjg. But then again, its freeware so I do not complain.

Talking about FSX compatibility of RFP 742; I haven´t tried it, but the "the experts" all say that some guages and a few other things do not function in FSX.
But who needs FSX ;) ; with REX and for instance GE PRO or similar, FS9 becomes a pretty descent looking simulation.

Anders

At Simviation I see Danny Garnier has adapted the RFP for FSX. No idea whether it's good, bad or indifferent.

Yup.. and for FS9 (perhaps FSX too though I didn't look that far) there is a 'merge' available with the POSKY model (RFP internals.. POSKY externals). That way, you could at least get the best of both worlds. Worth looking at ;)

Danny Garnier mucked up so many models with his bad attempts of being God's gift to FS.X (Norcal Prop Club)

Despite many authors telling him to leave their stuff alone he felt he would go ahead and do it anyway.
