Saddleworth 'Yank' day

Post by VEGAS »

Hi folks,

I was out having a lovely sunday lunch with my wife and baby daughter this afternoon when our we came across this. Its called 'The Yanks are back in Saddleworth' and sees lots of people dress up in wartime military and civilian clobber and bring out their beloved gas guzzlers. Some weird and wonderful machines on show. Great atmosphere and feel about the day. Nice to see things like this. Supposed to be a flyover by a Dak and a Spitfire, but a no show was probably down to the weather. :)

Looks very atmospheric and at least the weather kept the crowds down :)

Not the sort of usual event seen on threads...Yanks for posting

Of course. Nothing beats a big British thumper. I don't think next-door's would like it when I fire it up at 6am to go to work though...

A Matchless in the wrong hands, however, could appear very uncool :$
