PAD no more models

Post by hobby »

An update of today's date on www.premaircraft.com indicates that while the website will remain operational no more models are to be produced.

The site will however continue to be updated.

Many thanks to Barry Blaisdale for his freeware since 1995.

Yes, that was sad news for me to announce.

When Barry retired from active participation in PAD 3 years ago due to poor health Jean-Pierre and I carried on with the design and publication of FS2004 and FSX models. With some models we had help from simmers and real life pilots with specialist knowledge and we had lots of help from re-painters.

With Jean-Pierre's sudden death on July 20th we lost a prolific and talented designer and a very good friend.

I don't have the skills to carry on alone, and the chances of teaming up with an experienced GMax or FSDS jockey are slim, so the only thing I can do is to keep the web site going as long as visitors keep coming and to keep offering repaints and support advice.

For 16 years PAD filled the gap between the default models and the top end professional offerings and I am proud to have been a part of it.

Good luck for the future. Thanks for the Aircraft now and in the past. One of the first I had was the B1900 on FS2002. Great stuff.

Sorry to hear this Bob, but I wish you all the best for the future. Thanks for all your efforts over the years, particularly on the Sheds :)

This is indeed a sad news Bob.
May I wish you all the best for your future. And my profound thanks for all the models that PAD has produced over the years. Whenever I think of a DHC-6, the first model that comes to my mind is yours! :)
