From the books and accounts on websites they dropped them while the good old SAS/SBS did the designations from the ground

I don't have enough time at the moment to go into details, but after doing 12 years on the harrier force in Germany I don't think this is worthy enough to be Payware :| :(

Just posted this over at SOH as it seems very limited on a few things;
Hi, im really curious with the below points i have listed;

1.LGB, Clean and AIM-9 only loadouts? What about CBU, 500/1000lb, CBLS, SNEB/Rocket packs, just Tanks, just inner pylons (Unremovable due to no wiring joints for the WE177!)???
2.Centre Pylon not used? IIRC this was used by GR3 alot?
3.Aden Pods perminant? Harriers flew without them some times, both SHAR and GR3!
4.VIF'ing possible? Id guess this could be but with some FSX limitations?

At Gütersloh I only ever saw GR3s with two wing tanks on the inner pylons.

Pictures in mags seemed always to show them with SNEBs - but I never saw any at all on 3 or 4sqn GR3s 'in the flesh'.

Similarly, I never saw any stores on the centre hardpoint and they always had the Aden cannon fitted.

So I think that quoted statement is a bit harsh. Do they really have to cover every possible configuration? I think not.

I also never saw a Sidewinder on one, except from the Falklands TV coverage.

Still, I'm sure, as ever. people will find plenty to complain about. I was reading a couple of threads at SOH and Flightsim.com earlier today about a couple of what to me are excellent Alphasim models and the maons were so incredibly petty, I was really hoping no-one from Alphasim had seen them.

Same about the Iris F-16, which I much prefer over the Aerosoft one (I have both), but apparently it's too simple (I find it the other way round, personally) and has too clean a VC! 8)

All I hope is that I enjoy flying the GR3 when I've bought it - which I undoubtedly will :)

Hi John,

I wasnt meaning it to be harsh, but they are advertising it as
The total VSTOL experience with stunning liveries and the most accurate and detailed model ever.
so id expect it to be as accurate as possible, especially with weapon loadout managers that are showing up.

I have found a picture on Airliners.net that has a fuel tank on the centre pylon with the Adens on aswell...

And another 2x with just tanks and the CBLS in the centre...

Hi Chris,

The first photo you refer to is not a fuel tank but a recce pod. A very common fit with the GR3. The center line pylon could carry Recce pods, CBLS's, BL755's 1000lb and also a cut down Phimat pod.

The aircraft would have Guns in pods, pods without guns or strakes.

The pylons would be on or off the wings, I never saw one with inner pylons only.

Hi dave,

i did wonder if that would be a recce pod... :doh:

With the pylons i think its just Sea Harriers that had the inner pylons attached always...

From the pictures on SOH they have modefied the model to include a CBLS on the centre pylon, SNEB's and Single Sidewinders
