Just did 20 mins but it was great, really did enjoy it. No, didn't get a go, but was quite happy watching. I have always wanted to go in one and it was such a lovely day I had to go for it...

The weather today has been much worse, so a good choice yesterday!

Just in case you were wondering why thier are 3 levers on the throttle box

in the time before widespread use of GPS, the more astute will be able to guess where i am and what i am navigating by

Nice one Bob Is it me or are the throttle and pitch in a different position to the one Tonks flew in?

the beaver i flew was duel control, wondering if the one Tonks flew is, does not look like it perhaps thats why he missed out on a clutch ?

perhaps that why the throttle is in the middle in my case and on the left in his.

i am no beaver expert and that was my one and only aqueous aviation experiance, the rest involve dry land

Having tried a flight off snow earlier this year, a flight off hydrogen dioxide in the liquid phase has to be on the agenda for me too I think, when and if the opportunity arises

Was slightly amused to scroll to the bottom of Tonk's pictures in his post and read "It's not real!", because that is real, very real, and quite rudimentary from the looks of it! Just the little GPS spoiling it

So nice to see aviation goping on quetly in the background of everyday life

I thinks that's as many or more Beavers than I've seen in my whole life

I notice the Turbo Beavers are on a separate jetty to the standard with no mixing...is that for fueling reasons?

I'm just thinking of the risks if they were mixed.

Could of course be a co ncidence of for another reason

having had a quick surf on the net, it looks like throttle on the left is unusual IE the one Tonks went for a ride in

different engine maybe ?

And breeding mutants too by the looks of things Bob TBH.. I'm always used to seeing throttle/pitch/fuel in that order in most if not all aircraft that use them. Perhaps yours was modded to hold the charts?

EDIT.. Bob, there's a shot on Airliners of VH-IDQ, a DHC-2 Mk1 which has the levers in the same position as in your shot mate.. no charts resting between the prop and mixture levers though
EDIT#2.. The answer is out there Bob but I can't find it Having Googled my way through many pages of Beaver pics, some have the throttle on the left, some have it in the middle and on a turbo, it was on the right with the fuel in the middle Guess DHC are a happy-go-lucky lot
