Hawker Hunter

Post by tg13 »

Just downloaded and flown Daves fabulous Hunter two seater T7.I'm having problems with the ground textures when i rotate from inside to outside views when airborne...the ground below and all around is completely blurred and out of focus for around 15 seconds, then it rights itself, any ideas? No other aircraft i have doe's this.

unfortunately, this has been a problem for some people with the FS9 Hunters.
The textures are saved as 32bit for maximum clarity, but that can strain some systems. If you convert the textures to DXT3 it should help.
You can use DXTBMP from here: http://www.fly.to/mwgfx

EDIT Disregard - I have the fsx version with dds textures - sorry :)

Will be very similar conversion, if you already read it, mind.

OK, try this to make things easier.

Download this file: http://daveg.cbfsim.org/files/convert.zip

Open the zip and copy the 2 files into the texture folder you want to convert.

Run the "Texture Converter.bat"file.

Select option 2

Done :)

That will convert all the textures in that folder to DXT3 format, overwriting the originals so make sure you have a backup first ;)

All of 'em! All the Hunter textures that is, don't run the file on anything else.

The batch file will convert the lot automatically.

Don't forget to backup first :cpu:

Yes...there are the odd DXT1 textures in the Hunters and they have no Mipmaps...Those DXT1 textures need to be given Mipmaps and then your blurring of the ground will not happen.
