ST-27 Dave...now there was a Frankensteins monster of an abomination
Even QF Herons were eaten by that creature from the 'other side'

Ah dear..

Joking aside.. no, it IS an abomination isn't it. While it might be an attractive looking American aircraft (in an odd sort of way), it sure isn't a Heron. Transformers.. robots in disguise!

Re: Superior Airlines Dove
Intra were interested in the ST-27 in the early days...thankfully they came to their senses
It is sort of modern slick looking in a similar sort of way to the Swearathem Metroliner, probably the ugliest commuter transport ever built and along with the Butch 1900 goes to shows a lack of style that side of the water
Perhaps the Canadians though if they made it ugly enough it would sell in the States??

Re: Superior Airlines Dove
My ears are burning....and the Dove variation nightmare has returned to haunt me
Typically, I'm not in a position to give the definitive model needed for this repaint, as on Christmas Day the CPU on my trusty old FS9 and 'design' PC decided to retire. The HDs have been removed and usb'd to my W7 machine but trawling through 8 or 9 years worth of files is proving to be a bit of a chore...as is re-installing everything on to this PC
However..the closest model would be that of G-ARDE:
Scroll down to pic 27:
http://www.oldprops.ukhome.net/Dove%20Photographs.htm
Up to the series 8 (pic 28) the Dove had a transparent blown perspex canopy that was often painted, resulting in variations of side window shapes...unfortunately, for FS this has to be physically modeled and to model every variation would take forever
Originally the dome on the canopy housed a DF loop, the pylon on top carrying the antenna wire to the tail...with the development of avionics and comms the 'noddy hat' became redundant and was removed or left as is.
Re: FS9 cables in FSX.....the Dove was made with FSDS 2 for FS9, wires were made with a single poly, points pulled together, semi-transparent properties and a grey texture applied....result in FS9: nice, light cables. FSX doesn't like this approach and turns them into ship's hawsers
That's a nice paint and it's good to see the old girl out and about
ATB,
Derek

Thank you Derek
Just spent a happy half hour going through that site -- only to find my favorite Dove was missing -- What ever happened to the NCB Mk8 G-ARUM?
