Thanks Dave, Peter. As you can see, I haven't delved that far into the Trident yet!

I've just been having a read of that thread, Peter. It's fascinating and has obviously stirred a few memories for people. Seems like you've bumped into some old colleagues as well. Although much of it is too technical to hold my attention for long :worried: it has revived some memories. One poster argued that the Trident didn't deserve it's 'gripper' tag as he remembered sitting in the rear facing seats and felt as though he was dangling in mid-air on take-off. I remember those very well because we had a regular positioning trip on the T2 to and from Moscow to operate the trans-Siberian 707 flights. The BEA crew always saved the 'party cubicle' for us and the more experienced always made a dash for the forward facing seats. They always looked after us very well and the three and a half hour flight seemed to take less time than the tedious and forbidding formalities of entering the Soviet Union via Sheremetyevo.

Ian :)

Peter - many thanks for posting this. I'd missed it somehow before and haven't flown the Trident for a while - this is agreat excuse to get it out of the hangar again. I only ever rode in the back but I still have fond memories ....
