Short Stirling in FSX

Post by DarrenL »

This is the FS9 native freeware Short Stirling from Flightsim.com

Apart from one gauge being an old FS98 that can be swapped out everything works beautifully, even the undercarriage takes ages to retract like the real things, but unlike the real thing doesn't randomly collapse :)

Just needs a sharper prop spinner texture, but amazed it works in FSX without any problems.

Now off to look for a Halifax :)

How I would love a native top quality one of those, along with a Halifax too!

Trev

I thought there was a FSX Halifax in the works -- I know I have seen screenies of the WIP at Simouthouse.

Thats Uncle Teds Stirling......He did some updates for it sometime ago - and Lars Fors did a pure fs9 panel (its at www.classicbrituishfiles.com)
Darren you may want to go wander about it in the library and see whats there.

Was that the UKMIL one ? I saw one of a B.Mk III they were doing a few months ago, but haven't heard anything since.

And very nice it looks too! Thanks for letting us know Darren, I would have completely missed it otherwise.

I'm trying to get the cowl flaps to operate. They are stuck in the open position and I'm wondering if this might be a FSUIPC issue. Perhaps the gurus can enlighten me.

When you say, brought up to FSX spec.. what exactly does that mean? Has the model been decompiled and recompiled to FSX SDK? The old FS9 model works ok in FSX as a 'grag'n'drop' with the minimum of fuss anyway but it would be nice to have one.. more compliant ;)
