PAMA orientation....

Post by forthbridge »

Just a quickie....

After a new HDD, and upgrade to Windows 7 ultimate, I've been happily running FS9, and adding bits and bobs. Glacier bay has been in for a while, but something was missing - PAMA!

I've installed it to 'stage 1', but the orientation is rather odd as can be seen here:

It's so long since I previously installed it, I can't remember is this is the 'look' to expect?

It seems the flatten has worked, although, there is an extreme 'cliff edge' around the base perimeter. Seems slighly more fierce than I recall!

RW heading is 310 from the 31 end. Is this normal, or is there possibly an issue with the GB installation? I've not went any further adding the various other bits and bobs yet....

I remember having my fs9 installation going tits up one day and frantically trying everything in the book to get it going again instead of a simple re-install. I had PAMA setup just how I like it and would take a while to re do it....
Error 482: Somebody shot the server with a 12 gauge.

Peter..

Do those files equate to how PAMA is now?

Hi Peter :hello:

When I asked you about this a while ago, I suspected it would be complex but to this extent has been a surprise  Bad news about your info on FSScreenshots going with the demise of that site :( I see now why you're reluctant to release the updated (read evolved) version to an unsuspecting audience as this would surely mean rather more time on support than you have. It's a pity it couldn't be compiled as a single bgl but I guess by the nature of it's composition, this is a non-starter.

Thanks for linking the necessary files though. I may yet take up the challenge ;)

Yup - there are a fair few little tinkers for PAMA... I was running it off the previous installation, but there were one or two bits of stuff that needed reinstalling so I decided to go from scratch.

I did have the Conversion kit but for some reason must have 'moved' rather than copied the contents on the last install so all I had was an empty folder....

You very quickly forget....

Yes.. and it's quite easy to forget with a standard install as complicated as this one. I still have it on my old pc in 'pre Glacier Bay' form but on this one, it looked (it still MAY look) like your screenie so I turned tail and ran

Well good luck with it Dave and Jim...One of these days I will put every single file into an auto-installer but don't hold your breath! I expect by that time everyone will have gone to the dark side
