Hi,
Not a British Plane but a British flight yesterday from Liverpool to Southampton. A nice little aircraft with a very "sporty" rate of bank on turns. Due to a not-full aircraft, 2-3 passengers need to move back a few rows on each flight to balance the aircraft. Not seen any flightsim models for this but with a cruise speed of 360kt I guess that flying one empty would be quite a hoot.

They even started working on a VC for it, sadly still on standby...

Degsy : are you a pharmacist, and did you do a PPL at CATS in the 80s? Incidentally, Manx used to run a Saab 340 from Liverpool which was a lovely aeroplane, although its reliability was not always everything it could have been

Ah yes...the infamous G-HOPP
The SF.340 is a nice little aeroplane and generally reliable.
Unfortunately for Manx if anything was to go wrong with a 340 it did so with G-HOPP.....just on of those machine...what used to be said..."Made on a Friday"
When Manx passed it on, I remember an Aviation magazines saying that we should send the new operator our deepest sympathies
At one time it did seem that SAAB 340's rarely went tech...and G-HOPP was rarely serviceable. ....maybe it wasn't quite that bad but it did seem it

A Friend with whom I lost touch used to be a captain on Bae 146's for KLM UK and I recall him saying that it wasn't unusual to be overtaken by a SAAB 2000 flying at a higher level!

Crossair operated both 146 and Saab2000.Tomliner wrote:A Friend with whom I lost touch used to be a captain on Bae 146's for KLM UK and I recall him saying that it wasn't unusual to be overtaken by a SAAB 2000 flying at a higher level!EricT
They called the 146 "Jumbolino" and the Saab "Concordino".
I'm not sure but I think these names were even written on the fuselage.
