Enjoying this, I can now work out where I am just by looking out the window. Done all the usual things, fly over house, families houses, flyby of the neighbours and one Admirals daughter.

Also downloaded the freebies from the Earth Solutions site as a taster, I like the Needles Lighthouse, even flashes properly but I don't know what the lighthouse keeper is doing leaving during his shift here, perhaps he's come out to complain about the noise

Not sure yet if I will go for the Earth Sim trees just yet without autogen trees and buildings (apart from those with airfields and such) I have been able to increase the detail levels without loss of frame rates.

Hi Darren :hello:

Yup.. the Needles is cool as are the other bits you can pick up (Stonehenge springs to mind) :) I don't think adding ES Trees would impact too much on what you're seeing already but the point to remember is that if you stray outside the confines of England and Wales, the increased settings you've made will be more obvious on frames ;)

I think one of the reasons that this scenery from Horizon was so expensive before was that at the time there wasn't a lot of competition.

Personally, I bought the JF package on recommendation from CiX VFR club - and have always wondered if I went the wrong way. There seems to be a huge amount of add-on aerodromes for the former in the freeware domain, but absolutely nowt for the JF version.

I, too, am kicking myself for shelling out all that luvvly dosh, when it's practically given away now.

I don't even use it anymore - I have UTX Europe installed, which is perfectly good for flying VFR in Europe (not just the UK) - the only gripe being that the roads and waterways can be a bit wide - but they can be adjusted in the config options.

Add either REX (yeeow! Expensive!) or preferably GEX (Ground Environment Xtreme) Europe to that and all the trees will line up properly for you and everything looks brilliant.

£30-ish for both packages and you have the whole of Europe looking very perty indeed, in 3D :)

Well its the time when I am being pestered for Xmas pressie ideas....

I was gutted to go back and find this thread as I remembered the bargin price for this cheeky little three pack at 29.99 (sorry US Mac keyboard no British currently icons  ) only to find its back up to 60 squid.

On that point, is it still the photoscenery that most recommend?

For the UK.. yes mate. I say the UK but in reality, it's England and Wales. The Scottish bits are few and expensive 8)

Cheers Dave,

Thats what I thought but its good to get the clarification, shame about the Scottish Scenery. However being from "Kernow" I am more interested in the other side of the British Isles, I am planning to get the Isles of Scilly scenery from Earth Sim too, that looks very nice.

Thanks for the advice

Fraser.
