Afternoon All,
Well after the best part of 7 hours while flying a VC10 from OMDB to EGLL, I landed, taxied to the gate and then applied the parking brake. The client gave the ping and the green ticker tape message across the top of the screen.
I minimized windows in order to end the flight and exit the client, lo and behold the client was gone. I normally minimize the client as I tend to like a clean desktop when I come out of FS for whatever reason. Progs like FS and Active sky minimize to the program bar at the bottom but FSA insists on minimizing to the notification bar at the side of the clock.
I have by the way used this method for about my last 500 or so flights so have not had this issue before, but when I came to the desktop, on this occasion the client was gone (No Icon in the area). If I Ctrl-Alt-Deleted I could see that the client was running as a process but not as an application. Therefore I know of no way to get into the client to click on the end flight button and also I had to stop the process and lose all of the flight.
Normally I wouldn't mind but after 7 hours? Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know how I could have got the client back?
Oh well back to Flight Sim and time to do it all again.
Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy..
What a load of bum!
Sounds very much like you're using at least Vista.. probably Win7 so I'm afraid I don't have an answer to your problem. Regardless.. this is a completely new one on me. No one here has reported it.. client issues, yes but not this one. Hopefully, someone au fait with your OS can shine a little light

Re: Aaagh, The Client and Windows strike again
Hi Dave,
I wish I could be that predictable but sadly no I am running good old reliable? Win XP.
The only thing that I think it may have been is that windows found an update about 3 hours into the flight, I stopped it installing but it may have been the cause.
Pity I cannot run FS9 on my MACs using MAC OS, I would trust that far more.
Anyway not to complain, I'm at 34,000 feet in the climb and only have about another 7 hours to go again. Should be finished in time for work at 6am.
Cheers
