I recently purchased the 'Friendly Panels' FMC pack. It's intended for use with any aircraft, or even some default aircraft that don't have FMC's.
For longer flights, I thought I'd purchase it and I've first added it to my CS C-130, since all the RAF's Hercs are fitted with FMCs, even their VC-10s and TriStars are. The test flight from Boscombe Down, where the avionics were upgraded proved pretty satisfactory.
It's a good FMC package, a little bit basic for my liking and any other FMC enthusiast as ZFW, CG, Reserves etc are already entered from data it has collated from FSX or FS9. But however, it gives us the ability for the aircraft to follow VNAV and LNAV, like like the real ones.
So it's a good upgrade, as the Garmin 500 just isn't something that should be anywhere near one of these aircraft and the Delco INS, if you use it, is nice, but you're always typing in co-ords, just like a real navvy would do, but INS was ditched a long time ago anyway for FMCs, even in the RAF.
Any questions or other info, just ask away and I'll be glad to add.

Hello,
My name is Stan, i read your post last night, since then, i have done a little investigating, prior to your post i had never heard of Friendly Panels, also in the past i have been put off by the complexity of such FMC`s as the one the PMDG 747-400. When you described the F P FMC as being a little to simple for you, well it sounds ideal for me.
I would appreciate your views on the FP FMC Pack 2, according to the blurb this pack can be used on both FS9 and FSX aircraft all types, I am thinking of a Flight from Brize Norton to the Cyprus Airbase ( cant spell the name ) also I would like to know if I could adapt it to the Flight 1 SST Concorde, although I am not really into long interconinental flights over vast stretches of Ocean.
I fully intend to buy this product I would be grateful to any comments you might like to add, lastly thanks for pointing me in the direction.
By the way did you post a topic recently on DM aicraft VC missing textures in FSX , I had a recent problem with the BAC 1-11 I finally sorted the problem, now i have all the DM magnificant aircraft in FSX, soon i hope with a fully working FMC .

Ah the flight to Akrotiri, done that flight in the real world, just watch out for the spy plane when you land, then head right to the shops on the station and get yourself some beer
Just don't touch the chicks, cos if they're good looking, they'll be forces girlfiends or wives
Yes the FMC will help alot for that flight, as you'll have a long flight plan, so allowing the aircraft to follow the LNAV will be a big help.
The FMC will work on any aircraft you fit it to and if you don't like complexity, then this 'Friendly Panels' FMC will be just right for you. It's pretty easy to use, all you need to do is enter your cruise alitude, press calculate VNAV and it'll also handle your climb. I can't get it to manage decent properly, which is an issue for my C-130 as I can't actually set V/S on that, but if you're flying VC10s or 1-11s or infact any aircraft where you can set a V/S, then this is a tiny issue that can be easily forgotten about.
I'd like to know how you fixed the VC issue with the 1-11 too, thanks

Or if you do like complexity, I think I've found something even better
