Aloha Airlines 1-11

Post by STK »

Greetings,

I'm am not quite sure if requests for liveries operating in the United States are acceptable here, yet I was wondering if a kind soul would pursue the creation of an "Aloha Airlines" livery for Mr. David Maltby's gorgeous BAC 1-11-200.

Once again, being a US airline, I'm not sure if there would be feelings against this request, but assuming no issues, here are some references:

http://www.airliners.net/photo/Aloha-Ai ... 0195194/L/
(note the 284 delivery number on the nose. In operation, that number would be removed, and would be how I am requesting the livery.)

http://hawaii.gov/hawaiiaviation/aviati ... fullscreen
(black and white, but I'm sure it's beneficial in some way)

http://www.williamdemarest.com/?CFID=46 ... -11-nai-1/
(This page may take a while to load. If there is an error, just go to www.williamdemarest.com, and search for "Aloha" in the search menu. You'll see the BAC 1-11 there in the results with the ability to vastly increase the image size. Possibly the most beneficial of these resources.)

Note: The two flags on the nose are that of the United States flag (left), and the flag of Hawaii. I am unsure what the blue text says next to that, but it appears that at least one aircraft with the livery lacked the text, so you may leave it blank.

If anybody is willing to pursue the creation of this livery, I'm sure it would be extraordinarily popular in the FS world!

Thank you.

No problem about the request....it not only British classic aeroplane but one of the models this site suppports.

The delivery number you mentioned is not that.

It was displayed at the Paris Air Show and that's what the number was for.

Most pics of it that are published were taken during the show therefore the number is often seen in pics.

Aloha was to be my next One-Eleven paint years ago, but the model was being updated, so I held off and never returned to it :worried:

Well then, I stand corrected on my daft assumption as to the meaning of the numbers! That's quite interesting information too! :)

If you or someone else would be willing to create this livery (with or without the show numbers now, since you indicated that most sources display the numbers...), it would be great!

I won't be as I don't even have the model loaded and have not touched FS since the beginning of January :-O

I don't paint as such now in any case :worried:

Perhaps someone else will pick it up :hide:

It should have the numbers, just that the pair seem rarely photographed afterwrds by official sources so the 'show ones' get used.
