Recce of Malta...

Post by petermcleland »

I've been doing a recce of Luqa today in preparation for the squadron move to Kenya:-

It looks very nice!...I had not realised that I have an Aerosoft version of Malta installed, complete with AES!

I'll have to build two "Ghost Sets" for the passage through here...One to assemble them into three echelons for the break and stream landing and the second to assemble them back into high level battle formation for the flight on to Cyprus. The airport has changed a lot since the real flight through here in 1960 but the old runway 24/06 is still there and I have found a nice concrete area that might have been an ORP adjoining runway 24. That looks fine to accommodate a dozen Hunters so I think we can pass through here without upsetting the International airport's activity on runway 32/14

Lovely stuff... I'm going there for real in about a month.

Does anyone know if Aerosoft have an FSX version in the works?

No Aerosoft don't do the "Islands of Malta" for FSX yet...I liked this screenshot by Aerosoft of the Terminal at Luqa from the outside

What a pretty airport. It's a lovely screenshot - you can feel the warmth!

I think it's quite amusing that you've got so many add-on airports, with or without AES, that when you go somewhere new you get a surprise! It's like a virtual voyage of discovery. I imagine you with a big ledger (like your old log book) with handwritten entries with information on all your airports so that you can keep track of them!

I'm glad to hear that the project's going well - you've still got plenty of time, I think.

Ian :)

Ian,

That is a good idea...But it might be a bit time consuming  Meanwhile I'll make do with the AES help program which looks at all my scenery and lists everything that has AES in my system OR the complete list of ALL the AES sceneries available (240 at the moment)...I see I have 14 credits available so it might be time to buy some more scenery with AES to activate.

BTW...I have my own callsign in "Little Bandit" and it allows me to ask for a proper gate and get a follow-me car...It also allows me a fuel bowser but it draws the line and doesn't bother to send me a catering vehicle
