Hi all, just joined this forum today after being pointed here from a downloaded aircraft file!
I wonder if anyone can help me with this one, I have looked back a few pages of the forum but cant see anything which covers it. I have a couple of planes which do not have transparent windows, although the latest one, a Socata TBM 700 initially shows visibility, then clamps down with reflections of the inside of the plane and It thus becomes unflyable. Another one was a RAF Tornado package, had this running for agaes on FSX but then it stopped having transparent windows, and again was unflyable.
One other issue is the latest plane I downloaded, a HS748, which works fine-ish, a little jerky but is ok, but the inside of the cockpit is very dark, almost black. All the dials are there and work fine, but the background is extremely dark. Also, from the outside veiw you cant see through teh windows into the plane.
Anyone able to guide me through correcting these issues?
I have FSX with both service packs
AMD 9950 Quad with Nvidia 9600 card
4Gb RAM
and mostly everything works fine, apart form the above.

Sorry, I don't have an immediate solution but hopefully someone will be along soon to sort you out.
Looks to me like a graphics card or driver issue, also your FSX settings.

Hi Pete and welcome,
The 748 is an FS9 model so it will not be the same as a native FSX model with regards lighting etc. Could you post a screenshot of the 748 cockpit which your saying looks dark so we can compair it to what we see? Also, have you downloaded the 748 from our library or somewhere else?

Hi guys, thanks for posting up.
I will get some screen shots later and post em up. I got both planes (I get all myplanes) from Simviation, as I wasnt aware they were available anywhere else
Will post up in a couple of hours, but also after flying the 748, I find it gets very jerky at some points, so maybe its not really compatible with FSX?

748 works fine in FSX
sounds like your video card has a problem or the drivers are not installed correctly
have only seen the problem you describe with a video card that does not support Dx Shader 2.0 or above (your card should support shader 2.0)
the 748 is heavy on frames compared to a native FSX default model but it's not heavy on frames in general.
FSX compatible is not saying it is a FSX model (FSX native is a FSX model)
or you possibly didn't let my auto installer put the 748 in the correct place which is why it looks dark
too many "Experts" refuse to use Auto installers as they know better (not many do though) .......... Apart from George

Hi Pete,
there was a random chap reposting the guys aircraft (I'm sure it was at Simviation) as FSX compatible version.... needless to say, they aren't, and from what we saw of some of his "repackaged" stuff it was wrong. I'd suggest deleting the 748 you have installed and download it from our library, http://www.cbfsim.net/library

Unfortunately I havent been able to get any installer to work for me, always comes up with something like "air file is corrupt! and stops there, so I have to manually install all planes, except for commercially bought ones, and even those dont always turn out right, so maybe you are all correct, it is my PC and me that it wrong, which is, believe it or not, why I joined up and asked for help.
I am not convinced that the graphics card is at fault, as can be seen from the pictures, it does initially show transparent windows, but then quickly changes to the view you can see here.
Any of you guys live near Bristol UK can pop round for a cuppa and help sort out my planes??? LOL :-)
