Is there a freeware or payware Catalina with a VC for FS2004?

Hi AD..

There are 2 versions of the Cat I know of.. one by Alphasim for FS9 (which ports over to FSX ok) and one by Aerosoft for FSX.. both payware. The Aerosoft is for FSX only so this cut's your choice down. Have a look at Alphasim and you'll find screenshots of the model and panel/VC ;)

I only use FSX now, and so have moved on to the Aerosoft Cat, but if you are sticking with FS9, this Alphasim one is just the job. :)

I think the Alphasim Catalina will be the aircraft I go for.

There's this one as well, but sadly I've no idea what it's like.

I use the AlphaSim version all the time

Kind regards

I have the Cats from both AlphaSim and Abacus and both are very nice. I prefer AlpaSim's Cat because it's not a faired-over civilian version, but that's mostly a matter of taste. I've been quite happy with AlpaSim's version and only bought the one from Abacas out of curiousity. AlpaSim's Cat is the one I mostly fly, so I'd have to recommend that one, especially if you're a warbird fan.

You still get a version with the faired-over nose in the Alphasim package, however. :)

Wanting a Catalina
ME TOO .... after having flown on one of these suckers, a few weeks ago, they've got me hooked as well.

I'm not sure what the CBFS policy is regarding payware pomoting (so if I stand only the Ministries toes here then no offence intended), but, I think the following payware product, to me, looks to be the best FS solution and has been very encouragingly reviewed ....

PBY CATALINA

And this's probably the best scenery for it too .... considering we did operate CAT's down this way until at least the late 1950's. Again this FS scenery product is payware ....

TAHITI & THE ISLANDS OF FRENCH POLYNESIA

And just to round things off .... here's some videos my brother shot around and aboard the CATALINA we flew on ....

And here's ome pictures of the actual aircraft we flew on too ....

It's been decided. Alphasim's Catalina will be joining my hanger soon.
