Hello Gary,

They look "bleached" because I use the ENB patch that tends to increase the lighting effect - it's rather noticeable when you've got the weather set to sunny day - but using REX on a cloudy day, the sunrises and sunsets are simply so pretty I accept it...

As far as the textures go, at least now I know I'm not going mad! I wonder if there's any way to fix this ?

Okay... now this gets silly...

I opened up FSPaint (just 'cus it's easy to see the changes as you make them) and I can cover these up with black... but when I use the proper colours they still appear. I tested my black splashed version in FSX and the textures are covered... but when I revert to using the proper white... bingo, they're back...

I wonder if sometimes if these so called enhacements actually enhance things that shouldn't be

Especially with older models :worried:

What do you call proper white??

I don't use anymore than 238 238 238 *-)

Hello Gary,

Valid points all Sir! In this case, I'd consider "proper white" whatever DM chose to use when he created it! I simply colour match!

I've just been all over the EA SVC10 in FS9 and I don't see that at all.. no matter how hard I try. Might it be an FSX thing.. different env maps e t c?? *-) Anyway.. no visible signs of it on my rig..

Yep Dave, its definately an FSX thing. The Trident used to suffer from it in places before DM did the last update. :)

As it all began... "FSX Strikes again!" Thanks for confirming I'm not going crazy... well at least not crazier!

I'm off to fly... enough messing with files for one day!

Thank gawd for that ;)

Remember the Alpha Stratocruiser that grew big grey lines along the top and bottom (whichever way the light was coming from if I remember) when it got FSX'd. I guess a similar sort of thing.. though the SVC10 hasn't been FSX'd yet :)

It will only be in FSX, only the Super VC10 and it is to do with the BOAC V stripe thing.
To be honest, I can't remember what state things were at anymore when it comes to FSX. I lose the will to live even thinking about it and don't have it on my PC anymore, so can't check it out fully.
It's quite possible that it slipped though without me noticing when it was released.

Anyway, could any FSX users try this replacement texture please...

Copy it into your East African texture folder. It should improve things in FSX. Maybe. :worried:
If it is better, you can also copy it into the other Super VC10 textures that show the same problem.
Even if it works, you'll probably still be able to see it slightly, but at least it will be solid white now.
