New FS2004 Canberra WIP thread

Post by nazca_steve »

Hello all,

For those that remember, I'm a bit of a Canberra nut (putting it mildly) and have been working on a new series of FS2004 Canberra models since the autumn. After a bit of umming and erring I thought I'd share something of how they're going. It's going to be a pretty comprehensive build in terms of bomber canopy types, starting with the standard B.2. Here's where I am on that variant so far....the next major stage after sorting the cockpit and nose cone is the bomb bay. It'll have a VC down the line as well, but that's a long way off yet.

Cheers Ben, and they're Gmax. Once I get this one built it should be a case of cosmetic surgery mainly on the nose to make the others...although doing the various VCs is a going to be a a bit of a bugger since it seems no two Canberra cockpits are vaguely alike! Still, I am looking forward to getting to the other types...the 'swordfish' nose being among the eagerly awaited.

Good stuff mate. Reason I ask is that GMAX stuff works better in the Dark Side as a general rule, and there is always the option to recompile if you go that way further down the line :)

Yes good to know, cheers Ben. Skippy and Sketchy74 are planning to recompile my Sea Hawk for the Dark Side somepoint fairly soon, so Gmax has turned out to be a good thing. It wasn't planned that way; I just happened to dabble in 3DS Max a few years ago and the transition to Gmax was easier.

Thanks Dave, she's coming along at least. The bomb bay should be fun next.
