RAF Albatross

Post by Harry Basset »

I've just downloaded the RAF textures for the de Havilland Albatross and installed them in accordance with the readme. AX904 appears on the aircraft menu but when selected the aircraft loads without the textures. I've installed several new textures for different FS9 aircraft today and all work fine. I also downloaded and installed the RAF textures again but still no show, any sugggestions please? I searched for the author to try and send a private message but did not see him on the membership lists.

Just a thought

Check the the Texture= line on the cfg has the same name as the texture folder

Hi Garry

The texture folder is "texture.RAF" and the CFG line is "texture =RAF" all as downloaded tonight.

Just downloaded it to have a look.

Seems the RAF textures were possibly made for an earlier version. The texture names in the repaint don't match the ones in the original package, i.e. fuselage_t.bmp is named fuselage.bmp in the repaint. Also the light maps are missing *-)

Hi Guys,
Apologies for uploading a repaint for an old version. Thanks David for working that out! I have now downloaded Jens' latest Albatross and converted the repaint files, which I have now uploaded to Leif at the Pond. Hopefully he will have it in place shortly.
Cheers, Peter Watkins

All fixed -- I just published Petes paints for the 2.0 version of the Albatross

I thought that was the problem with my copy but didnt have time to pursue it further due to a sick child.

OK Peter its up -- in BOTH version now - however I would suggest that anyone who wishes can download Jens upgraded 2.0 Albatross from www.classicbritishfiles.com - it will work in FSX as well
