Can't add scenery

For some months now, I have been unable to add scenery to FSX via the in-game menus.

Add-on scenery with an installer will work, but I am unable to add anything myself - it just gives me repeated dialog boxes to choose the scenery.

This has been the case with Vista and Win7, through several complete FSX reinstalls.

I'm wondering if it is to do with some payware scenery that is interfering - I have UTX Europe, TahitiX, St Marteen, UK VFR Airfields 1 & 2, Cloud9's EuropeX (landclass to sort the diabolical default UK winter textures) and the JF Real Scenery, which is de-activated.

It won't be the Europe X or Real Scenery - but maybe one of the others?

Hi John,

Go to the "Scenery Library" in the "Settings" Menu
Browse to the folder you want to add and hit 'OK'
The addon scenery that you have selected will not be added, instead it will open the directory.
To add the scenery LEFT click on any blank space inside the folder, and the windows should close. You should now see the addon scenery selected in the scenery library.
