Have we officially hijacked this thread now? Yes, the weekend was a washout here too, but with weather coming in generally from the west, you may find it brightening up in an hour or two. High cloud but bright here at the mo and looking better over Filton.
Well mate.. asking for a Dove on a forum maintained by the people who produced the only viable one in existence was a bit 'slack' anyway so hijacking is authorised. Tks for the wx update
I've had a leak on my landing upstairs for a fortnight which was patched (fortuitously by a mate putting a sat dish up) on Sat afternoon (thank god because the rain on Sat was too much) so all was well. On Sun afternoon, water started dribbling in in the living room (this has since stopped) and last night as I closed up, I noticed a lamp out in the ladies loo. The lamp fitting was full of water!! I've been topside this morning with a silicon gun and have hopefully stopped THAT leak. Where next.. where next The little boy with his finger in the dyke had it good.. he really did
Roofs leaking is perhaps the most depressing of household building work chores. Every time it rains heavily I wake to the slightest dripping sound having (years and years ago mind in my first bedsit) been doused in half a gallon of water which came through the ceiling onto me in bed at 3 in the morning! The landlord had failed to tell me of the bucket in the loft slowly filling with roof-leaked water. When it finally overflowed it soaked the plaster under it and the weight brought the lot down in one go. Not a good way to be woken...
God no.. I can't think of many less attractive ways of being woken. I've had water come in from so many different places over the past 9 years, I've become paranoid. Whenever it rains.. I automatically look up then check all the 'usual' places
BTW.. to say it was brightening up would be a slight exaggeration but it HAS stopped raining and the low cloud appears to be moving off at some pace. We may see your sun/blue sky here after all
