Well, I think I'm going to keep the option to install the effects included in the package, but I'll also point out that they are usually non-smokers...

Been surrounded by Dart powered aircraft, most of the visitors at one time were Viscount, Argosy, 748, Friendship, Herald, Andovers etc....dozens a day and never seen one smoke

Dan Air -- lots and lots and lots of 748s

AirUK/BIA Heralds

juts a couple of G1s on this side of pond -- http://www.phoenixair.com/home.php These guys were just down the road from my home in paulding county -- G1s were a regular feature on the approach into Cartersville.


They DONT smoke in any condition

The ONLY time I have ever seen exhaust was on Convair 600 departing ELP for ABQ and he was using ALL the Water meth.

Hi, John!

As stated above, the AIR INUIT repaints
- C-FGET combi version and
- C-GCUK cargo variant (LFD)
are depicted.

Included in the readme file are the parameters for the Shockwave 3D landing lights and the settings for the full throttle smoke effects for those who want.
Both values optional to be added to the aircraft.cfg file.

You can keep you Darts clean of course...

I assume that the horizontal stabilizers of the real 748s didn't show exhaust stains either?
So maybe I exaggerated their "smoky" appearance...

If you want them unstained and clean, you'll just have to copy the texture file
tailplane748_T.bmp
from an other white livery and paste it into your INUIT folders.

You're confusing things

They real life tailplane does show stains as there is stuff in the exhaust built up over time but it is not visible and oxidises after settlting a bit like the mess arround the flues of smokeless fuel chimneys....it's not conventional soot as such

Anyway..Darts did not show visible smoke and that's a fact..

I saw this kind of stained tailplane on a photo of a Twin Otter, but this seems due to their PT6 engines...

Given the overall look of the rest of the aircraft.. it probably is a bit too much mate. That doesn't mean to say it's not nicely done because it is.. just that it doesn't fit with the rest of the aircraft. Were it a beaten up old freight dog that hadn't seen a decent wash in years, that level of dirt would be more appropriate. As Garry said, there could be some build-up of crud there.. AirUK had black painted in the same areas on the Dart Herald though not every user followed suit

The Brits and CL-44 usually had a light grey stripe on the tailplane so when clean blended into the metal and when crudded up the metal was protected by the nasty stuff............another couple of non smokes with stains.

Some Heralds had all over dark blue or black tailplanes as well as the ones DB mentioned.

Tee staining would be slight on a paint as clean as you have it. I did over 50 paints for the 748 and varied the staining to suit the general condition on each one
