Trident Turnround...

I have been using the Trident to tour around testing my various airport sceneries...I've done a few and have a lot more left to do but I thought I would show some screenshots of various airports and a video of a turnround at Dusseldorf.

Great shots Peter, and loved the video. Out of curiosity, where ther tugs in Trident days lower or was it a longer bar? I know its the same in FSX where the Tug fouls the underside. Really liked the way the bar pivots where it joins the tug too... its just a small thing, but I like it

I seem to remember the tugs were pretty much like the one shown with a towbar and not the other type that some airports AES has where the tug is split with a section that goes either side of the nosewheel (I don't know how that type connects but AES has both types and another smaller type for small aircraft).

I was delayed flying out of LHR once in an F.27 while they got permission to power unaided off stand . They only had one towbar that fitted and it was broken.

They had various towbars of different lengths and perhaps fittings so I guess that is they did it too in the Trident days and ensured the proper clearance with various aircraft types.

We did eventually taxy off...it was nighttime, but only when four guys on on each corner with hand held florecent tubes guiding us out.........we weern't even on a pier, it was a remote off the end of T1 pier and we were side on.

But rules are rules and we would normally be pushed back onto the main taxyway.
