The rest were taken this morning at South Queensferry Edinburgh featuring the mighty bridges. In case anyone is wondering, the shrouding on the rail bridge is to prevent old paint dust and debris which contains lead from falling into the Firth of Forth. The new paint is a new formulation, which I seem to recall is expected to last at least 25 years!
Now at the age where I know I like girls but can't remember why!
I love the isolation in the first one and the harmonious contrast between the gentleness of nature and the power of mankind in the second shot, givng the false impression that man has tamed nature which of course were are often reminded that he has not

I used to be given a threepenny bit as a very young boy to throw over the Forth railbridge when travelling to Aberdeen to see my maternal grandparents.
Is the bridge just being repainted or partially reconditioned? Looks as if major components are being repacked in foam.
Ah the smell of sea air and the HAAR rolling in over the water..... awesome pics...............really good.
the Rail bridge is permanantly getting painted, it takes a year to paint from one end to the other and keep it rust free,
i did hear that this was going to be the last year of this...... but i have heard that before as well...........
