GenX v2 blocky coastline water

Post by DaveB »

Hi Guy's..

Saints forgive me but I've just had a look at FSX again now I have a cpu powerful enough to do it justice. My startup situation is the default Cessna at Llanbedr (where else!) and while it now moves along nicely, I was a bit annoyed to see the blocky water textures still present with the v2 GenX.. something NOT present using v1. Due to framehits, I'd been forced to use the rather cruddy low-end water settings so I tried upping the water level detail and bless me, the blocks have gone and the sea looks like the sea

Just taken DG's Rapide down the loop and feel a little nauseous now so it's off for a quick lie down  If anyone else see's blocky coastline water with v2 and you can afford to up the water detail a bit, try it and they may go away ;)

And before anyone comments.. NO, I'm not moving to FSX yet

You boys you!!

I have to admit it's a lot more fun hustling along on the faster cpu. Even DG's Rapide only phased it once leaving me with the dreaded green mush for land but it didn't last long and I WAS moving some.. at least 112kts at the time AND at low-ish levels (high for the Rapide but low for everything else)

Yep.. chuffed the dodgy water has gone and little or no frame hit. A solid 30 (locked at 30) all the way round the loop ;)

That's it.. NO MORE FSX
