Advice Please.

Post by NigelC »

I'm no whizz-kid on PCs. Basic things I'm ok on. So, I bow to the great knowledge base on here and ask for your help and advice......

I have got a bit of a "stutter" for want of a better description in FS9. I'm getting cycles of about 6-8 seconds of nice fluid frame rates followed by about 6-8 seconds of very slow frame rates. It's only started recently, but as I snatch flights where I can because of work and home commitments and don't have that much time to make careful notes on things, I couldn't tell you if it coincides with any specific events, such as scenery/aircraft/ai downloads or other software (installed Squawkbox in the none too distant past for example).

Any suggestions out there.........................

Yes Anti-Virus is the usual culprit with these things especially NAV.....so easy to forget it is there and inadvertantly leave it running in the background.
