Ian, that is just one fabulous video! A precise and spectacular approach into Kai Tak, so if its okay with you, I'm going to post that link at my IL2 squadron site. This is just the sort of thing non-MSFS people need to be shown.

Well I have the CS 70 and 757, first thoughts after alittle look 757 not bad looking panel good but lots of pop panels to confuse me...fear a manual read is required!! VC seemed a little dark again thats maybe me as I had not read manual etc may be better if I switch the lights on!!
707 nice panel great VC looks very nice but the nose is a little long?? I think HJG have better type specific panles and a greater 707/720 range and for free. But for less than £20 it was a good investment.

Tut TuT dave B ...cant fly long haul without FSnav...is that really flying a 50 era jet... using an external fully featured plug in autopilots..and i thought you were a purist

i never use FSnav, tried it and did not see the point but it is each to his own mate, but i can and have done mucho long haul, real time online in CS's B707.

you have to actually...dare i say it...FLY this old bird

the trick is to find a set of stable speeds/altitudes/throttle settings where you can trust the thing to not overspeed or stall out of the sky while you leave it unattended while online, and on a long haul you will.

happy to help you out mate if you want weaning off your FSnav crutches...if its not too late and your too far gone

feels Johns wrath as you crash in flames LoL...not managed it yet...but one day it will happen because i fly all my longhaul that way in CBFS since we dont use glass cockpits and FMC's (except FSNAV of course for some)

sometimes flying DM's trident is good for my nerves LoL...since it actually had a fully featured autopilot

got my beady eye on the 727 for fsx..already got it for fs9....feeling tempted since CBFS operate B727's....

That's great Bob. However.. when you live at work as I do, rarely is your time your own and working 6.5 - 7 days a week, I simply don't have the time to sit at a pc for 7 and a half hours to cross the Atlantic. The pub is closed between 3 and 6 in the week and in that time.. I get to fly and have my dinner. If I'm lucky and finish downstairs on time as I did this evening.. I might have an hour to get another flight in before closing time. The only other time.. the real time I have to myself is after midnight.

While I wouldn't dare knock anyone who wants to fly by the stars or sit there tuning each beacon/VOR in by hand.. folk with that sort of time to spare are in the minority me thinks. All power to 'em regardless

know what you mean, its why i prefer my long haul flights to be over 10 hours which gives me enough time to drive to work and back and be able to land when i get home

i have a sly log in at work just to see how my flights doing...saw my trusty transatlantic bristol brittania start deviating off track and heading for the north pole one time

was not a thing i could do about it lol, it had had an engine failure and the AP had dropped out

lets just say i have never been to Thule airbase before...i have now, good job FSA now allows diversions

these days i am more likely to wake up and find my chosen plane is orbiting the destination airfield long or short haul so i have to have some sort of lateral nav. Fortunatley most of our fleet does, sadly my B377 does not so will have to stay on the ground a while, 'cos of all the drugs im on i dont have the mental capacity to stay ahead of the thing, its actually too much like real flying old airliners Lol

my sister had a pub for years...its easy work shouting NEXT..whats hard about that Lol

no seriously thats not a job thats a lifestyle, im suprised you find the time to do ANYTHING...never mind fly

I not much more than a short flyer myself.

Most of my flying is just testing and consists of a startup, take off, quick circuit and crash

I've already been asked if I've tested the Yukon on the 17.5 hour flight they often did or the record 23 hour 53 mins (I think or there abouts) the type held for being airbourne until taken with the Boeing 747SP

I wrote back saying I hadn't but Yukon try it if you want sometime
