If you get Track IR 4 don't upgrade to Track IR5 software (it's a free download). Although it works it goes all jittery and weird. Stick with v4 for Track IR4 and v5 for Trcak IR 5.
I have Track IR4 and love it. The only problems are sometimes strong light hitting the sensor makes it track wrong but other than that it's fine. Use it all the time, wouldn't be without.

DTR2, I have TrackIR 4 using driver final 5b without any jitteryness (driver final 5 and 5a had issues), on the other hand if driver 4 works fine, why mess with a good thing :agree:

Never noticed any FPS impact in MSFS or IL2. It will be essential for Rise of Flight, which I should be capable of running by Christmas.

By the way, if you have a pair of headphones with a thin-ish headband, the clip can slide into that, so its on top of your head, and therefore look even more ridiculous to passers-by. :)

I have the 6-DoF version with the silly hat. It is great with even a basic VC, and the better the VC, the better it gets. Multi-monitor setups will give you peripheral vision when landing, but TrackIR will give you much the same at a lot less expense.
The big thing is to avoid letting go with a big sneeze when you are on short final... :$ :-O :'(
