Shame about the distance and the camera

Post by John »

Had I gone yesterday with the right camera, these shots would have been a lot different. Family illness prevented me using yesterdays ticket for the Revival. So I ended up on the hill above Goodwood Race Circuit, with sadly only the 'point and squirt' camera.

Oh well never mind :worried:

Still at least I've seen her in the flesh once more

Cheers, John.

The second shot (portrait) is awesome. Captures the moment perfectly.

Stratospheric traces, of our transitory flight.
Trails of condensation, held in narrow paths of white...

It was a dim and gloomy three days - with bright spells on the Saturday - made me feel quite at home!

At least on the Saturday we got the Vimy, Lancaster and Vulcan passing through the same airspace on the same day - which seems unlikely to happen again. I'll see if I can sort out some of my shots of them and the Spits/P51s/Buchon etc by the weekend.

My one disappointment was to find out that the DVD for the 2008 Revival sold out within three weeks of being issued last December - looks like someone left a couple of noughts off the batch size for the print run as you can usually pick them up at the following event. Anyone got a copy they don't want??

I keep looking at this shot, and can't tell you how much I like it. I think the graininess just adds to the atmosphere.
Just out of interest, have you tried converting it to black and white?
