And to think the sceneries I am working on are freeware, perhaps I will change my mind now.....

Certainly looks better than the default textures it's sitting on

I would say it's been withdrawn due to copyright infringement. That ground poly texture is lifted straight fom GE, Multimap or even the Horizon VFR scenery.DaveG wrote:Withdrawn?

Hi Folks
Photo tiles can be purchased from several sources,
or you can even composite your own.
Certainly looks far more realistic than some other commercial products.

Is that a definite, or just a guess ?Mickey D wrote:That ground poly texture is lifted straight fom GE, Multimap or even the Horizon VFR scenery.

I've never felt so frustrated....... died so frequently/spectacularly/or needlessly....... yet had so much fun, in a long time.

Let's say an 'educated guess'. Yes they can be purchased but they are not cheap and scenery does not make enough to warrant the outlay. And that's not a guess.

Yo Paul
By the time I read DG's post (which wasn't that long after it was posted) the product was available for sale. As you say, you can get tiles from just about everywhere these days though it may have been pulled by someone presuming it was dragged straight off the Horizon software. Of course.. it may have been for some other reason but whatever.. the resellers must have been satisfied
MD.. I suppose you gotta want to go there but £6.14 isn't a great deal of dosh in the grand scale of things. If you were to buy 20 airfields at £6.14 a throw.. then yes, you're talking silly money but this might be part of a cunning plan to make a quick killing and depart into obscurity again. When you say there's no money in scenery, who is that for?? The developer or the publisher?

The freelance developer. The publisher of downloadable freelance material incurs no costs to speak of and reaps 100% profit. Up to 50% of the sale price in some cases.DaveB wrote:Yo Paul![]()

Re: New UK scenery for FSX......
hmm.. 50% is a big old whack whichever way you say it. It was an obvious question really (or a question with an obvious answer) but I was interested to see what the publisher can make.
OK matey.. tks for that
