Great vid mate.
I suffer from paranoid amnesia. I can't remember who I don't trust.Re: I hope you'll like this video
hey thanks for the compliments gents.
I have the two videos I did from LNA to OBE then back to LNA,
it's a little , boring? maybe for some ,
but they have some nice views of this area of Florida for those who which to see them
and for some who can't get out much to see something different. with natural sound... no added music here!
I should have them up for after .... tea?

Joe..
You still got your Carenado V35B and if so, how do you reckon it compares to the real thing??

Re: I hope you'll like this video
yes I have it
but truthfully ?
I'm probably not the one to ask, ... it's
, .....we often say that flying in the sim is like flying in real life
provided the model is done correctly , Peter has said that the Trident done for FS performs as the real one did.
( I hope I'm saying that as he sees it or has said it)
but I must say none of the aircraft I've flown in real world has left me with the impression I was flying in the sim.
if that makes any sence...
are the stall speeds (flap settings) about the same? in no wind yes I guess
take off speeds? yes . audiable noises ,,
could be my sound card and speakers....
But
It is a nice looking model and it does have nice sounds , yes and it has a paint kit and some ready made repaints..
it's priced right I guess ,
then again Vinnie says my sim model's panel is plain and crappy , but he got a kick out of it
and one more thing.. I haven't flown VInnies V35 I don't have my ppl and his plane isn't equipt with dual controls
so I can't , say.
thinking of buying it? if you think you might like to have a nice V tail GA for some short hops when time is
tight, I don't think you'd be throwing your money away.

Re: I hope you'll like this video
Hi Joe
Fully understood
You probably well remember the day out DM and I had at Brize starting with the AAR flight and ending with an hour in the C1K sim. It is often quoted that DM's VC10 is as close as it can be to the real thing and I guess that's true given that we're all sitting in front of a pc monitor and using either a yoke/pedal combination or a stick. Pose the question.. is it 'really' like flying a VC10?? The answer has to be no. I'm guessing the sim at Brize actually handles pretty much like the real aircraft does (it's full motion) and that the handling/feel weights are a good approximation of the real thing. There is absolutely no way a home pc setup can 'feel' like that whether it be an Alienware monster or the piece of rubbish I fly on
It is 'simulated' as well as can be done within the constraints imposed upon it but without the 'feel' and I think that what you're saying is pretty much the same
Am I gonna buy it.. hell no.. I already have it
I had a long, hard look on this pc this evening and found it lurking on a dark, not often visited 'out of service' hangar on one of my HD's and thought it would be nice to show it the light of day. Only had a quickie but 2 things struck me. The FS model isn't that keen on slowing (understandable as I've not flown it for longer than I can remember so I was probably procedurally up the creek) and.. what a delight it is in the turn. Little if any back pressure is required to do a nice steady turn and I wondered if this was a consequence of the V tail.. or to put it another way.. not having a fin or, was this particular facet of the model faithfully reproduced or a quirk of FS
I know there are +'s and -'s in the V-tail config but couldn't (and can't) recall exactly what they are.

Re: I hope you'll like this video
I remember all the comotion about the sim .. for crying out loud it was like the first time a child was
allowed to run loose in a candy store!
for the hard work you all had invested into the model... I was a little envious accually
what does a sim do for me? It gives me the visuals to practice for real world.
I'll know where a switch is , provided the panels are the same , and some feedback from the yoke
provided the FD is close and a few other things.
My first landing in a 172 G1000 was good enough to get a reaction from the instructor..
He said "thats was one of the best I've seen from a first timer". mentally I was able to see through the windscreen "the sim"
and back into the real world beyond it. but it sure didn't feel like the sim, the turn rate the speed on approach
or the flare . in fact the flare was nothing like the sim .....
now having said that, I remember a show about Concorde ( I've posted Brian Calverts interview here)
there was an interview with Andre Turcat Concorde's French test pilot.
If I rememeber it correctly he said ((not verbatim))
For three years we trained on the simulator.
and on March Two 1969 <<chuckels>>
We flew the simulator ...... and then he was beamimg and smiled ear to ear
so maybe it can be as real as it gets and visa-versa if you have the hardware.
tell ya what I sure would never fly a 172 inverted ten feet off the water real world or even in passing think it funny
I may be a little crazy with my humor .. but I isn't insane .
Joe
