Im looking to spend like crazy and for some reason im wanting to go mad on a new fast pc, especially for FSX and other games.
Any recommendations....
I have up to £3000 available.

Make sure its intel & Nvidia. and invest in the Western Digital VelociRaptor drives... They have a seek time that is half that of most other SATA disks.

I'd concur with the intel processor (i7 975 Extreme) and nVidia graphics (Ge-Force GTX 285 PCie DDR3 2GB) coupled to a X58 motherboard with TR3 Tri Channel 1600Mhz Memory
....but if you're spending that much money go for Solid State Drives rather than Velociraptors!

I agree about Intel & Nvidia also.
Even though I have just bought a i7 920 with a ATI HD4890.
The deal was too good to miss out on. I don't think theres anything wrong with using ATI cards for FSX, but I have been told that Nvidia are more suited.
I'm sure my new ATI card will be up to the job.

Someone posted a link in another thread about a firm 'specialising' in PC's for flight sim. I couldn't find the other post but found them by 'googling'.

Take a look at their specs for the high end EGLL machine and I guess that's what you could aim for. No price given but give them a ring and see how much it is. Theyhelpfully list the components/specs so you could then go onto one of the main pc component retailers (e.g. overclockers) and place everything according to that spec into your shopping basket and make a comparison. This assumes you are comfortable building your own machine.
I'd be interested to hear how much that beast is.

I looked at Alpinesystems on someone else on here's recommendation. I found their website very helpful and their machine spec's excellent. I even had a chat with the main man on the phone who was exceptionally friendly and offered impartial and valuable advice and support.
The only downside is that their machines are very expensive. Even their 'basic' system was way too much for my budget sadly.
I suppose you get what you pay for but it just was'nt an option for me. I had to draw the line somewhere.

Hi Jason,
Thats an amazing spec... however... That second hard disk is too slow. Its seek time will be arround 8ms at best and given that your C drive is a SSD you'd be better with a Velociraptor (the only SATA disk thats sub 5ms) or another SSD
