Paul,
Here are some more shots as requested. All the paint schemes are default as out of the box.

Roger, thank you very much indeed for those. It doesn't look half bad at all, does it...blimey, I'm flipping from one side t'other on this.

Do you know if there are any repaints at all ? Some good ones might swing it.

Paul,
I don't know of any repaints (there are quite a few in the pack) but I don't think you'll be disappointed with what you get.

It flies OK for me Paul and if I can fly it anyone can. I actually find it to be very forgiving. Deadstick landings at Driffield are a doddle. And no I don't get a percentage. I got paid up front.
TBH we only have the published numbers to go by as there's no way to actually check them on the real thing. ;) Unless they'll let us 'borrow' the one hung up in London.

This aircraft is 'nearly' a very good model IMO, rather like the recent Hawker Heroes.

If only the VC wasn't made so that you cannot see the rest of the airframe at all :wall: and the textures sometimes look like something from the Antiques Roadshow. I would give it a 7 out of 10.....but that is 7 more than the nearest other Wimpey for FSX!!! :agree:

Let's hope the Lanc goes that little extra to get those last 3 marks.

I think the point is with this model.. if you really love the aircraft.. you are more inclined to put up with it's shortcomings and enjoy what you have. I'm in a similar situation with a certain rotary winged beast at the moment. I don't DO rotary winged aircraft for 99.9999 etc etc etc percent of the time but this one is very special to me. Not because I've flown in one.. not because I am related to someone who flew one.. not even because I've SEEN one. I grew up seeing one on TV in all my favourite shows and the desire to have one in FS has tempered my normal 'this is fair freeware quality but not payware quality' mode. Similar happened with the Alpha Sea Vixen but nowhere near to the same extent.

Bottom line.. Wellingtons are as rare as hens teeth in flightsim so you have two options. The old Alpha Wellington stayed on the 'payware' listing for far too long IMHO and I actually bought it :| The FSX version under discussion is a quantum leap ahead in every single way possible but will fall short for the more critical among us. If you LOVE the Welligog and really, really want one.. your options are very limited. This one.. or that one ;)

Hang on... the weathering on that beef wellington pastry is more realistic than the engine cowlings on the model!

I've got a feeling I'm going to end up getting this thing. Its just too much the kind of aircraft I like...I'm trying to resist...
