A decent gaming/simming desktop for £500?
Hi all,
Can anyone recommend a good supplier or make/model of desktop PC for around £500? The main things it has to be capable of is gaming and simming. Especially FSX and the add-on's.
Obviously CPU and GFX are the most important for me and the higher the spec the better.
Just the tower is all I require. I will source a TFT monitor/keyboard seperately.
Been scouting around for one and seem to be a little undecided. At the moment the only one I have seen which caught my eye is this one
http://www.aria.co.uk/Systems/Gaming+Ra ... ctId=37196
Although I have had read mixed reviews over it.
Anyone give any decent pointers?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Vegas
Have you tried PC Specialist. You can specify your requirents on a checklist on the website and check the price. This can be done prior to ordering. The process is very easy and the ordering and delivery process is very good.
You can spend less on a case for example and more on the graphics card or processor. You should be able to get a good tower for your money.
I have a complete system from them and it is so good I don't use FS9 any more.
Good luck with your searching
Regards
John

Thanks for that link Jim. Never come across a PC Flight specialist. Certainly going to speak with them.

Re: A decent gaming/simming desktop for £500?
Well guys, I bit the bullet. Decided to order a half decent system seeing as I am going to be using it frequently and fancied something that will bring me up to date for at least the next 12 months. Gone (well) over budget but here is my spec:
Intel Core I7 920 Processor overclocked up to 3.4GHz
Asus P6T SE motherboard with Intel X58 chipset
ATi Radeon HD4890 1024MB Graphics Card
Cooler Master Elite 334 Black Case
Winpower 750watt Power Supply
6GB PC3-10666 DDR3 Memory
2 x 500GB SATA 7200rpm Hard Disks
Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit OEM (with Windows 7 upgrade voucher)
Not sure how it will perform but hopefully it will handle most of the demands FSX will throw up.
