Bugger, late again!
If the Shack proves a bit too big, how about a good old Whirlwind HAR 10, without the winch , but with a step it has loads of tactical re-paint possibilities and then the is the Queens Flight version.
Jon, is it within your skills to get the baseball cap of the pilot and give him a helmet?

I may not be able to textre an aircraft but I did have a think about the problem of the helmet when I first took it on. I have an idea for it so I'll give it a gocalypsos wrote:Jon, is it within your skills to get the baseball cap of the pilot and give him a helmet?

Anyone got a shot of a helmet just so I can check what I've been thinking is correct?

the Shack is not set in stone yet, so I am open to possibilites
I arrived back in the UK yesterday, so after a small rest I will be ready to go

Mk1a and Mk3a (both without masks) would fit the bill.

Excellent progress Jon, its much more like a sioux now.
I like that idea!
Although some support Whirlwinds still carried a winch, certainly the 84sqn UN flight aircraft did.

Re: Gmax Guru required!!!!!!
Pretty sure all Whirlwinds with the exception of the VIP ones could have a winch fitted. On the Wessex it took about 20 minutes to fit and a Land Rover, a bit longer (and much rarer) to do on a Puma. Have to remove the step too, or you end up with a headache or a stripped cable!!Although some support Whirlwinds still carried a winch, certainly the 84sqn UN flight aircraft did.
Still, with the civil users (Bristows for example) etc. as well, a Whirlwind (Gnome version) would keep the re-painters busy for months. I missed out flying on them at Shawbury by a few months, although there were still some of them around. I did a few trips with 22Sqn at Thorney Island as an ATC cadet though....as a 'winch-weight'

Nothing quite like starting from a clean sheet, eh??????so is there much difference between the s55 and the UK whirlwind?

This page shows the differences, the one we are missing is the one with long nose!

Here is the story....

I also have a list of UK military aircraft NEVER made in MSFS, if you are still open to ideas...
SA Pioneer, SA Twin Pioneer, HS Argosy C Mk1 (very different to RP's civvie model), Bristol Belvedere, Bristol Brigand, Avro Anson (Transport variants), Vickers Valiant (not since FS2002 anyway), Jet Provost Mk3, Piston Provost, BP Baliol and last but not least DH Venom.
