Yes I have mate but I've never liked what I've seen the next morningDaveB, you ever tried FS painting and drinking on a Sat-Night

Yes Leif.. I apologise for my rather simplistic one liner last night though at the extreme, if they detect too great an AoA.. you will get the stick shaker go off

Don't need to apologize for anything Dave
Its been thirty years since I have heard them referred to by their "proper name"
Living in the colonies you have to use the local expressions
But I am curious if they were moved on the 1-11s
that had cargo doors cut in them.

Indeed mate.. an interesting question. By definition, you'd expect them to be sited in the 'ideal' place so by moving them (or one of them) it'd be less than ideal.. cock-eyed as that sounds
SYD doesn't have em as far forward as depicted on Jason's WIP shot but that said.. SYD has been around the block a few times so isn't an ideal subject for comparison. The answer is out there but I've not had time to look for it yet ;-)
EDIT..
It would appear that they weren't changed Leif. No matter which version you see them on be it a 475 with or without cargo door or a 500, they're always in exactly the same place relative to the wing LE.. that is under windows 8 and 10 counting from the LE forward ;-)

Re: Omani Air Force 1-11?
Well Dave - I'm blessed if not blow'd" LOL I guess SYD was chopped and changed so many times in its career that it would be different. I was thinking about the actual location driving into work rhis morning (Not much else to do at 0230 except point the car down the freeway) -- I guess back then BAC engineers thought they had to be placed relative to the leading edge and SMC. The Maddogs have them far forward above the whiskers under the cockpit windows - On many smaller acft they are even further forward. I was surprised that one was still on the cargo door until yet again I thought it through -- they are neither mechanically attached to anything nor do they utilise the pitot-static system - theyre purely electrical - so cutting a ruddy great hole in the airplane wouldnt make any difference so long as the wiring loom and relays weren't compromised.
Jeeze the things you think of on a Sunday morning.
Leif ;-)

Yeh.. the annoying thing with those ideas that spring into your head is that you have to find the answer which is even more frustrating

Re: Omani Air Force 1-11?
Clear my mind? Not going to happen -- lots of early morning fog in the NE and I have half a dozen flights sitting in Orlando with the self loading cargo just starting to come to the boil.......I hate when real life interferes with my play time :@

Does anyone have any close up shots of the top of the very large panel on the left fuse, just id like to outline it fully rather than just have a basic rectangle representing it.
