My mouse won't work with Vista

Post by VEGAS »

Hi guys,

I recently purchased a new laptop which is a much smaller, less powerful and battery friendly machine than my current one. Anyway the machine comes with Windows Vista Home Premium and its taking me some getting used to. Not a big fan of it at the moment. Whether its because its new to me, I'm not sure. Regardless I have already ordered the upgrade to Windows 7 which lands here in October.

Anyway, back to my point, does anyone have any idea why my existing mouse won't work in the new machine?

Its not even recognising it in the device manager. :dunno:

The laptop is an ACER Aspire 5738Z and the mouse is a windows wireless notebook optical 3000.

Tried Google but not really found much.

Any ideas? Am I being completely stupid?! :$ :$ :$

Same as my old mouse and it worked fine under Vista.... you'll need to install the intellipoint drivers from microsoft

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/downl ... ategory=MK

Works fine here, both on this 64bit machine and the laptop which is 32bit... no need to do anything other than follow the instructions. ;-)

Cheers Ben.

Done all your instructions to an absolute tee.

Installed as required. Followed the prompts and clicked on the specific options.

Re-booted etc..

Nothing...Mouse is dead as a dodo.

The batteries are fresh. Changed them twice! :-(
